Day 5=Mayan Ruins

Day 5= Lamanai
This was the day we went to the Mayan Ruin called Lamanai. This was my least favorite day from the whole trip, it made me think of something my dad would have loved to do instead of all the other fun things we did. Now I still liked it, but it was my least favorite. I was VERY tired. I got no sleep from the night before, so I was pretty miserable and tired the WHOLE day.

We got up bright and early like usual! Then we headed on another flight to Belize City from San Pedro. We then drove an hour or so to the place that would give us a river tour to the ruins! That took about an hour and half on the boat. It was cool because when we first got on they took us where these spider monkeys were and we got to feed them food we had with us. They were sooo cute and I loved this part of the trip because monkeys are so awesome and they touched our hands when they grabbed the food. Then we continued on and saw a baby alligator. There was a lot of bird watching during this part which is another reason I think my dad would have loved it because he LOVES birds! When we got to the ruins we headed off to look at them with our guide. We walked up one which was cool and the tour guide just explained a lot of stuff. There weren't as many as I was expecting which I was glad for bc it meant we were not going to stay as long. We ate lunch, chicken, rice and beans, and cole slaw. Then we went to the last ruin to climb up, I didn't care to do this bc i was soo tired so I just sat at the bottom. Then we went back to the boat and headed back. Then we drove back to the airport to fly back to San Pedro.

They cooked again for us this night, it was like chicken something or other. It was pretty good though. Then we roasted some marshmallows and have some smores. I went to bed when everyone was still roasting and slept for a long time.

These are the Mennonites. The tour guide stopped by them and said, "Okay everyone, take a picture." Very awkward!We are finally at Lamanai and can you tell how tired we all were?
